Tilewise is built to know as little about you as possible. In short: no account, no analytics, no tracking, and nothing from your windows ever leaves your Mac.
What Tilewise does on your Mac
With the Accessibility permission you grant, Tilewise reads the position, size and title of open windows and which app owns them, so it can arrange them. It never reads what's inside your windows, never records your screen and never logs your keystrokes. This information stays on your Mac and is never sent anywhere.
Your settings, layouts and a short activity log (for troubleshooting) are stored on your Mac in ~/Library/Application Support/Tilewise and Tilewise's preferences. Your trial start date and licence are stored in your Mac's Keychain.
What Tilewise sends over the internet
- Licence activation and checks. When you activate a licence, and about once a month after that, Tilewise sends your licence key and your Mac's name to our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, to confirm the key is valid.
- Update checks. Tilewise checks our website once a day for a new version, which reveals the Tilewise version you're running. You can turn this off in Settings → General.
That's all. There is no analytics, advertising or tracking code in Tilewise.
Crash reports
If Tilewise crashes, macOS may give it a crash report on its next launch. Tilewise saves it on your Mac only; it's sent to us only if you choose to attach it to a support email.
Purchases
Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record, which processes your payment, email address and billing details under its own privacy policy. We receive your email address and order details so we can send your licence and help with support.
